| Seniors at Newman Grove High School take a nine-week speech course first semester. The course includes some general knowledge of the principles of communication in addition to writing and performing several speeches. Required speeches include impromptu, entertainment,extemporaneous and informative speeches as well as a prose or poetry interpretation.
Students improve writing, researching, speaking, and listening skills as they learn the importance of effective communication beyond high school.
During this quarter, they also work with the school counselor to develop resumes and do scholarship searches.
