Varsity Boys Basketball

The Newman Grove Bluejays. The Jays finished the season 8-13 getting beat by Orchard in Sub-District finals by 5. The Jays had a nice season getting beat by 12 teams with 7 of them qualifing for the state tournament. Where they had four make it to the semifinals and two advanced on to play in the Championship game. Humphrey SF ended up winning Class D-1 and Spencer-Naper finished second. I would have to say this was a good season.

Ryan Rudloff ended the season with 111 steals in a season breaking the season record that he broke the year before of 95.

Ryan also earned many honors. Receiving 1st team all-conference. 2nd team all state in both the Omaha and Lincoln Journal star. He was also selected 3rd team Norfolk area. 1st team Columbus area. He was selected for the Northeast Nebraska all star game.

Ryan Rudloff signed a scholarship to play Basketball at Wayne State College next season.

The Jays will miss the six seniors from this years team, though the Jays will have the second and third leading scorers back in Ryan Nathan and Jordan Nelson. The Jays will have three other players coming back that have a lot of experience in Trey Frauendorfer, Preston Afrank and Sean Farrier.
