Las reglas de la clase de español
La Señora Kluver
2006-2007

1. RESPECT--If you expect respect, then give respect. Please respect yourself, others, and the school. Respect involves allowing yourself and others to obtain a quality education.
2. CLASS TARDIES--Tardiness will result in the following consequences:
Step one: Teachers will verbally notify the students of tardiness every time they record a tardy. All tardiness will be
documented on MacSchool
Step two: On the third tardy the student will receive a detention for this tardy and for every tardy up to and including number eight.
Step three: The ninth tardy will result in a Saturday school for each additional tardy. If a student is tardy before school or after lunch, he/
she must report to the office for a tardy slip. If a student is ten minutes late or more for a class, it is considered an unexcused
absence.
3. ABSENCE FROM CLASS--A student who is absent with an excused absence needs to have an admit slip. The teacher will sign the admit slip and assign make-up work to be completed. It is the responsibility of the student to complete the make-up work on time as the teacher has requested. For each day that is missed, the student will have one day to make up the work (including tests and quizzes) that has been missed. For extended absences past 3 days, students are required to meet with their teacher to develop a makeup work schedule. Any work not made up is considered late.
4. LATE WORK--Students who do not have homework ready to hand in upon entering Spanish class will need to report to Mrs. Kluver after school in order to complete the work. If the late work is completed by the end of the day it is due, the students will receive a 10% deduction in credit for that assignment. If the student fails to report to Mrs. Kluver after school in the day the homework was due, s/he will need to report to Mrs. Kluver the following morning at 7:45 a.m. to complete the work. Late work completed at that time will receive a 25% deduction in points. If the students fails to report to Mrs. Kluver the morning after the homework is due, s/he will be assigned a thirty minute detention and receive a 50% deduction in credit for the assignment. Failure to report for detention will result in the consequences as prescribed by the Madison High School Student Handbook.
5. CANDY, FOOD, SODA, JUICE and SPORTS DRINKS--Students are not to bring candy, gum, food, juice, soda, etc. into the classroom that has not been given to them by the teacher or has not been pre-approved by the teacher for a class party.
6. CHEATING--Cheating is divided into 3 different sections:
(1) Students caught cheating on daily assignments will be given a "zero" for the assignment. Students will also be given a thirty-
minute detention.
(2) Students caught cheating on tests / exams will be given a "zero" for the exam. The student needs to request an opportunity to re-
take the test. The grade on the re-take test will be averaged with the "zero" for the new test grade. In addition, the student will
receive two thirty minute detentions.
(3) Plagiarism is defined as "the act of copying words or thoughts without giving credit to the original author. The consequences for
plagiarism will be:
(a) Daily work: Students will receive a "zero" for the assignment and will also receive a thirty-minute detention.
(b) Tests / Exams: Students will receive a "zero" for the exam. The student needs to request an opportunity to re-take the test. The
grade on the re-take test will be averaged with the "zero" for the new test grade. In addition, the student will receive two thirty- minute detentions for the original cheating offense.
*Any work turned in that is not the original product of the students will result in the aforementioned consequences.
7. HALL PASSES--Only one student at a time will be allowed to leave the room to go to the office, locker, restroom, etc... Each student will
need to have me sign his or her agenda on the line that lists the appropriate date, time, and destination and the student will need to fill
out the sign-out sheet with the date, the time he or she leaves, the time he or she returns, and his or her destination. Students who do
not have their agendas with them in class forfeit all privileges for that day.
