Plan:
activities consistent with national, state, and district standards
in a developmental manner
meaningful, real-life integrated activities
by defining goals and objectives of lessons in terms of student behavior
by writing effective lesson plans using the learning cycle phases of exploration, invention, and discovery
Expected outcome: Student learning will be more meaningful, productive, rewarding, and successful when their developmental levels and interests are taken into consideration.
Facilitate learning:
by striving to improve each students' self-esteem
by encouraging students' cooperation
by allowing students to manipulate hands-on materials
by providing class activities that are enjoyable, organized, and understandable
by using questioning strategies to promote cognitive development
by maximizing academic learning time
Expected Outcome: Students will become more confident of their abilities, whick will create a positive attitude toward school, themselves, and learning. Learning will be the responsibility of both students and teachers.
Assessing:
students' development both formally and informally
summatively
student needs, strengths, and difficulties
Expected Outcome:The teacher will have a thorough understanding of her students through assessments given in reliable, valid, and effective ways, This knowledge will help the teacher plan lessons to best facilitate the needs of her students.
Grouping:
students to facilitate effective learning by teaching good social skills, encouraging cooperation, and promoting conflict resolution
Expected Outcome:Students will develop the social skills necessary to work and cooperate with others. They will carry these skills into the work world with them.
Manage the classroom:
by providing decision making and goal setting
by promoting an atmosphere which encourages sharing of ideas without bias,br>
by modeling appropriate bhavior
by being alert to learning and management problems and seeking remedies that are democratic and humane
by creating a code of conduct and student desire to live it
by enforcing all rules fairly and consistently
Expected Outcome: Students will have a complete understanding of what is expected of them. As they follow class rules they will deepen respect for themselves, others, the classroom, and the school.
