That Can Be Ignited, these items are prohibited on school property or
at school sponsored events unless authorized by the school
administration. According to the Gun Free Schools Act (LB 658,
Federal Law 18 U.S.C. Section 921), a student shall be expelled for one
calendar year for possessing, handling, or transmitting any object or
material that is ordinarily or generally considered a weapon.
The Nebraska State Law (79-4, 180(5)) and the Student Discipline
Act (LB 1250) also prohibit weapons, including knives, on school
property or at school events.
