Atkinson Elementary/Jr. High Administrator

The Student Council is organized for the
purpose of providing input from the student body to the administration
on matters of school rules and regulations and overall policy.
The Student Council shall receive direction
and guidance from a member of the certified teaching staff selected by
the administrator. The council shall consist of one boy and one
girl from each class of 6th, 7th and 8th grades. Each class will
select one boy and one girl from its ranks to serve on the
council. The method of selection will be by popular vote with
each member of the class voting for one boy and one girl.
Nominations shall take place prior to the actual voting. Only
students are allowed to vote in the Student Council selection
process. The class sponsor will supervise the election, tabulate
the vote, and provide the results to the administrator. Selection
shall take place during the first week of school. Elections shall
be held annually.
The Junior High School faculty will elect one
member from each class to serve on the Student Council. The
faculty election must take place after the student election.
Elected Student Council members shall elect a President, Vice-President
and Secretary/Treasurer.
The administrator of schools must approve all Student Council activities.
ELIGIBILITY SHALL BE THE SAME AS FOR ATHLETICS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES.
