This handbook is designed to benefit all who are associated in any way with Atkinson Elementary/Junior High School.  The handbook contains much information to enhance cooperation and understanding between home and school.  Suggestions for improving the handbook are always welcome.
     A number of duties, rules and responsibilities have been outlined in this Handbook.  It has been designed to give, in simple, brief form, a picture of our school, its activities, traditions and procedures.  Please read it thoroughly.  Basic rules and policies are essential to an organized school environment.  The school administration and staff will strive always to be firm, fair and consistent in the enforcement of policies and rules.  The Atkinson Elementary/Jr. High School, District 21, Board of Education school policies and administrative regulations are summarized in this handbook.  These policies and regulations are available for parent and student review upon request.  This Student Handbook represents an extension of those policies and regulations.  Review this handbook periodically and direct any questions or comments to the teaching staff, the administration or Student Council.
