Athletic Participation Philosophy |

District 21 Philosophy
1. Provide all Junior High students the opportunity toparticipate
in all academic and extra-curricular experiences offered at this level.
2. Focus on providing positive experiences and successes in a constant on-going effort to build self-esteem for all students.
3. All athletic participants should be given the opportunity to not
only practice, but also to play in a competitive game situation against
other school teams.
4. Winning is important to the participants, fans and coaches of each sport, but a concentrated effort must be
made to address the above criteria. There may be some instances,
for example when a championship is at stake, that participation is
limited to the more talented players, particularly when the score of
the game is close throughout.
