Challenge ID Procedures

testpaper:   Grades K-3 -  Students are qualified for the Challenge Program by a Screening Assessment for Gifted Elementary (SAGE K-3)  test score of 115+ or Combination of SAGE, Teacher Nomination and Parent Inventory.

Grades 4-5  -  Students are qualified for the Challenge Program by a Screening Assessment for Gifted Elementary (SAGE 4-8) test score of 115+ or Combination of SAGE, or by the Metropolitan Achievement Test (MAT) scores or Teacher Nomination (Gifted Evaluation Scale [GES] form).

Grades 6-12 -  Students qualify by Spring Metropolitan Achievement Test (MAT) scores that are entered during the following summer to properly identify students.   The Challenge Program obtains a class lists in the Fall from Middle School's Exploratory Class, Junior High Challenge Class and Senior High's Advanced Placement class.   Letters and brochures are then sent from the Central Office notifying parents of their students placement in the Challenge Program.
