Healthy Lifestyles..all yearlong

Text:  Nutrition and Wellness: grade is average of participation, lab, daily, and testsX2) Participation grade will be given daily based on wearing pedometer and daily on activity days.

 

This class meets daily but provides a variety of experiences, all designed to promote a lifelong healthy lifestyle.

 

Activities will include:  Sand Volleyball, Horseshoes, Billiards, Ping Pong, Card and Board Games, Tennis, Badminton, croquette, and golf.

 

Additional units will be added including planning leisure time activities, and exercise for the mind using puzzles and brain teasers.

During 1st and 4th Quarters the text will be used on Monday and Friday; During 2nd and 3rd Quarters the text will be used on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  Wednesday's during 1st and 4th Quarter will be walking in an attempt to reach target heart rate.  (heart monitors will be used)  Tuesdays and Every other Thursday will be an activity.  On the Alternating Thursday we will go to the hospital to take part in their wellness program (exercise tapes, circuit machines, yoga & relaxation, etc.)
