Homecoming Responsibilities

AREAS OF DECORATIONS

Decorating the Volleyball Wall, the lunchroom entrance, and making the class signage for above lockers.

Choosing a skit for coronation.

STEP BY STEP TO HOMECOMING SUCCESS

1. Contract music and pay for with class funds (This will be split 4 ways). Complete Music (Annie, Andrea, Amber)

2. Invite last year's king and queen to crown this year's king and queen. They need to be informed of when the coronation will be. (Hannah)

3. Contact photographer for coronation. DAN MYERS (Hannah)

4. Arrange for an announcer for coronation. JUDY DVORAK

5. Make sashes that say king, queen, prince, princess, and attendant (2). The year is also displayed on the sash. (Ashley, Amy, Katie K.)

6. Buy crown for the king and tiara for the queen. (Makayla, Katie O.)

7. Buy an autographed football and volleyball. (Gift for a cross country participant--possibly Stuart Bucks). (Ordered through coop orders)

8. Buy long stemmed red roses for the Queen and her court: 6 for the Queen, 4 for the Princess, 2 for the Attendant. Some years it has been 6,4,2 other years it has been 3,2,1 DECIDED TO DO 3, 2, 1 (Amanda, Karmyn, and Kristy)

9. Arrange for dance sponsors -- parents and teachers.

10. Make up the King/Queen ballots. Run them off and take them around to the classes two weeks before homecoming week. (Hannah)

MR. Hanzlik to PRACTICE with the candiates and crown bearers before homecoming.

11. Have candidates' picture taken for the paper.

12. Notify each candidate that they will need to do a write-up of themselves. Collect a typewritten write-up from each candidate. Send the write-up and a picture of candidates to the Wrangler, The Atkinson Graphic, and KBRX (no picture). The write-ups will also be used for the coronation and the football field presentation.

13. Choose crown bearers from the kindergarten class. A relative of one of the seniors is usually selected if possible. Notify the parents that their child has been chosen and what time the child needs to be present to perform their duties. You might want to have alternates, in case the first chosen are sick or unable to make it.

14. Arrange for transportation to be used at the football field for the royalty presentation. (Lance, Jake, Luke)

15. Decorate for the coronation pictures to be taken. (Karmyn, Makayla, Katie O., Katie K.)

16. Get pillows on which to carry the crowns for coronation. (These are in Mrs. Larabee's closet).

17. Make a sign up sheet for dates for Homecoming dance and hang up in Donna's office.

18. Some years, signs with the candidates' names have been used at the football field.
