Wheeler Central Schools was created in 1968 when all of the schools in the county consolated to form Wheeler Central Schools.  There are presently two towns in Wheeler County--Bartlett and Ericson. 

Wheeler Central is located in Bartlett, Nebraska.  It is a Class D school located in the sandhills in Wheeler County.

Wheeler county is mostly a ranching and farming community.
