Mrs. Rahn's Info
I grew up in the Atkinson area and actually attended high school in what is now the junior high school. I graduated from Peru State College, taught two years at St. Paul, NE, got married and retired, so I thought, from teaching. After staying home with my children while they were growing up, I decided to give teaching another try. I am currently closing out my 14th year of teaching at Atkinson Junior High. I teach 8th grade language arts and American history and 6th social studies. I have a BA in Education with an emphasis on social science, and I also have a Middle School endorsement. I definitely enjoy junior high students.
During Christmas vacation this school year, my husband, daughter Dawn, grandaughter Jocelyn, and myself went to the South Pacific to visit our daughter Shanna and her family who live in American Samoa. What a trip! It was very different for a Nebraskan to celebrate Christmas in 90 degree weather and at least 75 per cent humidity. The very best part was seeing our family who lives there, but visiting a part of the world that is so different than ours was enlightening and eye opening.
