Women in Literature
The members of this class will read novels by women and those with women as major characters in the story. The students' objective will be to analyze the books' literary value, as well as identify themes, characters, conflicts, etc., that are relevant to their own lives and to greater society today.
Our reading list includes (but not limited to) the following:
The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver
The Crucible by Arthur Miller
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Fried Green Tomatoes by Fannie Flagg
Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare
