EDUCATION

I graduated from Wayne State College, 1988, with a degree in Secondary Education, Language Arts, and earned my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Technology (August 2003)

Currently, I teach College Prep English for juniors and seniors, Advanced Speech (for speech team competitors), an Applied Technology Course, and Journalism. Occasionally, I teach an elective course, Women in Literature, which is usually offered on a rotating basis in our schedule.

FAMILY

I've been married 27 years to Steve Schindler. We've lived in Norfolk, NE; Corpus Christi, TX, and now in Creighton, NE (for the past 19 years)

We have three sons: Skyler, 22, who married Laura this summer. They recently moved to Michigan, where she is pursuing her degree in optometry, and he is a manager for MC Sports. Our other two sons are Nicholas, 19, who is a college freshman, and Beau, 12 years old and in the sixth grade.

PERSONAL INTERESTS

Outside of school, my interests include watching my sons participate in football, basketball, track, and baseball. (I'm an avid sports fan!) My oldest, Skyler, played O-Line (starting center his junior year; guard his senior year) for the Morningside Mustangs; Nick also plays for Mustangs as a tight-end, and Beau just plays at recess or summertime baseball, but aspires to be an athlete someday. For myself, I may love sports, but my interests expand way beyond athletic events. Even though I'm not particularly artistic or musically inclined -- I do have a passion for the fine arts, and love to watch others perform who are talented in those areas. I also enjoy fishing, boating, golfing, walking--as long as the weather cooperates! If I'm indoors, I enjoy experimenting with digital photography (particularly photoshop), reading, doing crossword puzzles, e-mailing friends, watching a few of my favorite sit-coms (The Office!), enjoying my favorite stand-up comedians on Comedy Central, or shopping on-line.
