ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY
The
Wayne State College chapter of the Counsel for Exceptional Children
along with ESU 1, 2, 7, 8 and the NEAT Center will be hosting a
workshop, “Assistive Technology in the Classroom”, Wednesday, October
24, 2007. The keynote speaker, Janet Hill, is an Education

field of technology in the classroom. This event will offer other
presenters with hands-on opportunities and presentations on tentative
topics such as technology integration, reading and writing software,
graphic organizer software, and iPods used in the classroom. A complete
list will be available in the fall.
“Assistive Technology in the Classroom” will be held at Wayne State
College and will start with registration at 8:00 a.m. with the keynote
to follow. Participants will have the opportunity to choose from
many break-out sessions following Janet Hill’s presentation. The
daylong event will conclude around 3:00 p.m. This event is open to
regular education teachers, special education teachers, Speech Language
Pathologists, parents, and Wayne State College education majors looking
to gain new ways to increase student learning.
Registration cost for the day is $25 and includes continental
breakfast and lunch. The deadline to register is October 19, 2007. To
