PRT #8 MEETING:
Thursday, April 24th, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at ESU #8 in Neligh.
Persenter: PRT #8 Members
Parents and providers of children birth to 5 years old are invited to attend the Annual Early Childhood Meeting for Parents and Providers sponsored by Planning Region Team #8. At this meeting we will discuss services for young children that are needed in communities in Antelope, Holt, Madison, Stanton, Pierce, Boyd, and Wheeler counties. We will discuss the difficulites that parents have in accessing services for their children. We will also write a grant that includes a plan to provide more training for parents, child care providers, and teachers during the 2008-2009 school year.
Lunch will be provided and childcare stipends and mileage reimbursement are available.

UNL VISION ENDORSEMENT PROGRAM
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Barkley Memorial Center in cooperation with The Nebraska Center for the Education of children Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired (NCECBVI) and the Kansas State School for the Blind will offer an updated two-year program of courses on teaching students with visual impairments and multiple disabilities.

NEBRASKA TRANSITION SPECIALISTS CERTIFICATION TRAINING
PURPOSE: Nebraska TSCT: Transition Specialists Certification Training is designed to prepare secondary educators as transition specialists to better serve the needs of adolescents and young adults receiving services in career, educational, and transition programming.

Program features include:

1. Preparation for Special Services Endorsement: School Transition Specialist
2. Completion of program of studies in two summers and an academic year
3. Extensive participation in local school and community transition activities
